Ethical guidelines - instructions for the power plant’s employees and partners

Introduction

Oy Alholmens Kraft Ab is committed to conducting its operations with a strong focus on safety, sustainability, and respect for people and the environment.
This guideline serves as a roadmap for all employees, subcontractors, and partners working within or on behalf of our organization. We are committed to following these guidelines and expect the same level of commitment from all involved parties.

Content

The ethical guidelines for the power plant provide principles and values that help employees and management to ensure responsible, safe and environmentally friendly operations. These principles are the starting point for our daily work and reflect our values, which are:

Health and safety

To support safe operations, the following instructions have been created for the personnel :

Activities that endanger the safety of Alholmens Kraft are strictly prohibited. Actions that harm the employer may lead to dismissal.

Each employee is responsible for safety, and must carefully follow given instructions and regulations.

Personal protective equipment must always be used according to given instructions. This is necessary to avoid accidents and protect workers' health.

The supervisor must act as an example for others, and follow instructions and values in all situations.

Work environment and wellness

We promote a work environment where all employees feel safe, appreciated and respected.

We do not tolerate any form of bullying or harassment in the workplace. Every employee has the right to work in an environment free from fear and pressure. Any form of bullying or inappropriate behavior is strictly prohibited and will lead to necessary actions.

No intoxicants may be used in the area and an intoxicated person is immediately removed from the workplace, after which the instructions for early support take effect.

Photography in the area is strictly prohibited. Special permits for photography is given by Alholmens Kraft’s managing director .

Each employee is required to keep their own work environment clean and safe. Each supplier is responsible for order in the workplace with regard to its personnel.

Environmental resposibility

We work to reduce our environmental impact by improving energy efficiency and using sustainable solutions

We comply with and strive to exceed all relevant environmental laws and regulations where possible.

We work actively to reduce emissions and waste and promote recycling where it is practically possible.

Ethical business operations and cooperation

We adhere to high ethical standards in all our business relationships, including resistance to corruption, bribery and all forms of unethical business practices.

We treat all employees, customers and partners fairly and respectfully.

We comply with all national and international laws and regulations regarding our operations.

In accordance with the Act on the Contractor’s Obligations and Liability, when selecting subcontractors, we carefully check that they fulfill all their statutory obligations. We do not accept gray economy in any form.

We only choose partners who are reliable and follow our company's guidelines.

Human rights

We respect and support internationally recognized human rights in all aspects of our operations.

We ensure that working conditions are safe and fair, and we offer fair wages and working conditions.

We do not accept child labor or forced labor under any circumstances.

We do not accept any form of discrimination, whether it is based on gender, age group, ethnic background, religion or other personal characteristics. All employees are equal and receive equal treatment.

Personnel development, well-being and communication

We offer training opportunities and career development programs that support our employees' professional growth and skill development.

We encourage open communication and empower employees to report concerns or rule violations without fear of the consequences.

We encourage employees to influence decision-making and to come up with ideas to improve the working environment and working methods.

We support the balance between work and leisure by offering flexible working time solutions and other services that promote the overall well-being of staff.

Social resposibility

We act as a responsible member of society and strive to positively influence the areas in which we operate.

We are open and transparent in our communication with the public and local stakeholders.

We are committed to minimizing the impact our operations have on the environment and the local community, including managing noise, emissions and traffic. We work with local authorities to ensure that any inconvenience is dealt with quickly and efficiently.

Compliance and follow-up of instructions

We are committed to reviewing and updating these guidelines regularly to ensure they remain current and effective.

We ensure that all employees and partners are aware of these guidelines and understand their content.

If unethical behavior or violation of the rules occurs, it must be reported via the company's own notification channel (At Alholmens Kraft, notification to the employer about workload – observation type).

We implement routines to monitor compliance with the guidelines and take appropriate action in the event of any violations.

If a contract covered by these instructions has termination conditions, the parties agree that violating these guidelines is a significant breach, allowing Alholmens Kraft to terminate the agreement with the Supplier.

By following these guidelines, we all promote a safer, more sustainable and ethical business. We at Alholmens Kraft take this obligation seriously and demand that all employees and partners commit to these principles. Together, we can create a safer and more responsible work environment that respects everyone's rights and the environment.

Oy Alholmens Kraft Ab’s management team has the right to make changes to this instruction.
